Breed description With its generous look, gentle character and enormous enthusiasm it is very difficult to the French bulldog in 1 sentence. They are character-full, playful, lively and sweet at the same time. They are also very loyal, clownesk, sensitive and intelligent. Although they are brave, in mental area they are very sensitive. They sence different moods in the house in great detail and hard words affect them deeply in their soul. Also they are not keen on being left alone, they are determined to be a part of the family life, this also concerns the trips. A French bulldog can sometimes be jealous if the attention of the boss goes out to something or someone else. They are alert on what happens in their surroundings, and let them hear thereselve if there is danger. Generally they do not bark much. They are small of piece, but brave as a large dog. Most of the Bulldogs can find it very well with children. Offcourse with young children must be looked out, this in concerning with their large enthusiasm. For older children they are very good playmates, they gladly participate with the turbulent games. They have a high tolerancelevel and much feeling for humour. With other pets the French Bulldog is generally getting along well. Also visitors are always enthusiastically welcomed. Compared with guests he is not hostile. Firstly just as sniff at and afterwards they follow you everywhere in the house. The French
bulldog occurs in 3 colours : black/white, fawn and brindle. French bulldogs gladly go along with their boss, but the don't need hours to be walked with. He also can be kept very well on an appartment, they feel at home everywhere. The French bulldog find it very nice to play. With a ball, rope or stick, it doesn't matter at all. Most of the French Bulldogs don't like to swim, but of course there are exceptions. Also going along on a holiday is no problem, as long as you keep in my mind the fact that they are not well against the warmth. Lets them stipulate the quantity of movement itself, and care for a shady spot. Generally they keep themselfs quiet on the warm days. The average age of the French bulldog lies around the ten years. They are less sensitive for sicknesses. The coat needs a little care if necessary. From time to time a brush and to need in bath. The hair loss of the French bulldog is generally not much, if they are in moult it is a little bit more. |
